PAl v NTSC

i have american friend acted in new film.  want give him blu-ray copy can play when goes home california.  made ntsc copy him.  surprise ntsc copy plays on blu-ray player here in  england, inferior pal version in filmed (very flickery in special-effects sequences).  question if give him pal copy able play in california?  know?

just send both. see how works out.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
