Save to Last Directory

i upgraded illustrator cs6. in cs5, had set when saving or printing file, go directory last in. now, defaults base directory on hard drive. have not been able find preference option give illustrator previous behaviour. how can change that?

might file permissions/ user privileges issue rather thing in ai itself.... adobe apps revert default document folders, if otehr folders/ files unavailable or inaccessible, @ least in programs' thinking...

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
