Thread: Application windows appear "unclickable" but actually just stop redrawing

i'm encountering issue on oneiric (running classic gnome profile plus compiz) of windows randomly appear become unresponsive click events.

happens register clicks, , applications respond, windows don't redraw. in order window begin redrawing, must minimize , restore window (at point i'll see whatever mayhem errant clicks have yielded).

strange issue appears affect thunderbird, chrome, , other applications.

else experiencing similar?

hardware context: i'm running ubuntu on 8,3 macbook pro (ati graphics).

anybody? mighty irritating bug....

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
