Thread: Can I upgrade from Ubuntu 10.04 to 11.10 without losing data?

i liked version of desktop better 10.04 (lucid). wouldn't hard, don't want use install disc upgrade 11.10 (oneiric), because of programs , media i've obtained, have nothing else big enough store data on. there way upgrade, either built in or otherwise, upgrade 11.10?

now in small pinch...

upgrades can buggy, why recommend fresh install. anyways, can upgrade update manager. should give option "upgrade" else need internet connection , free hard drive space..

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
