Thread: elilo.conf file missing

hello,

decided remove grub bootloader on kubuntu 11.10 , replace elilo.

searching first in google!

want modify elilo's configuration file. every forum visiting says should able find under /etc/elilo.conf , should this:

boot=/dev/hda
map=/boot/map
install=/boot/boot.b
compact
prompt
timeout=50
image=/boot/vmlinuz-2.0.36
label=linux
root=/dev/hda2
read-only
other=/dev/hda1
label=win

whenever search file on system, cannot find it!

when go usr/sbin/elilo file,, found:

## define default config file
conf=/etc/elilo.conf
bootconf=$conf
err=" error in $conf:"

## define default configuration
boot=unconfigured

how can modify , why not have elilo.conf file?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
