Thread: gnome Applications Menu Sub menus don't stay open and mouse problems

one of frustrating things gnome 3 application menu when go to, example,

applications--> sound , video -->

want drop down sub menu open , stay open can see available there opened in gnome 3 no possible - list of applications in sub menu stay open fraction of second , close. driving me insane. apologies if has been posted elsewhere.

ok worked out need keep left mouse button pressed whole time looking @ sub menu keep open. there way?

also, why mere hovering on icon or folder file etc opens without need double click? driving me insane these programs , files opening on place , going mouse settings , delaying times etc doesn't seem working. ok 2 things unless objects i'll keep them in 1 place.
thank in advance assistance.

try using mouse. problems explained broken left mouse button...

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
