Thread: gparted not installed but it is on the live cd (Lucid)

no doubt may give me answer faster can work out.

not sure whether have inadvertently uninstalled gparted, or whether not present reason on system. have disk utility, , gnome terminal have fdisk & cfdisk
feel rather reluctant install gparted, not recall uninstalling , wondered if reason inappropriate use on system

@ moment using

  • 64 bit amd laptop integral hdd & cd/dvd
  • lts lucid 10.04 i86 installed on hdd partition
  • i have external usb memory sticks , hdd mount

no...you're not going mad it's not present in standard install, because assumption people partitioning on install, , won't need afterwards.

can install repositories enough

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
