Thread: How to boot Ubuntu from EFI?

i have tried installing ubuntu 11.10 on newly bought lenovo thinkcentre edge efi boot enabled. machine came preloaded windows 7. first opted install ubuntu 11.10 side-by-side win 7. installation of ubuntu finished success, however, when rebooted, kept booting windows. not make boot ubuntu.

reinstalled ubuntu 11.10. time opted use entire disk option , wiped windows 7 machine. hoping work, surprised see still did not work. though installation process went without problems/errors, when rebooting gives me "no bootable operating system. insert bootable disk , press key..."

figure because of efi. have checked system setup (f1 during post) find bios option disable efi/uefi boot, however, there no such option machine.

question is, how install ubuntu on machine efi?
- or, since ubuntu installed: how make boot ubuntu?

*edit 2012-01-02*:
went , bought cdrom , installed ubuntu it. made work. appearently, ubuntu iso broken in such way installation usb not work on (at least some) efi systems.

you need disable secure boot in bios, if possible.
may need enter special bios code it.
if cannot disable it, can't install win7.
might help.
