hey, i'm new sorry if iv'e posted in wrong place! i'm having trouble installing ubuntu 11.10! i've downloaded , tried putting on cd , usb boot won't work! when click on desktop icon , won't open, window comes saying `windows unable open programme, asks me choose programme run with. have no idea i'm doing wrong! laptop dell latitude d600.
in advance!

it looks if not booting cd. make sure in cd tray before switch on. if still boots windoze need set bios boot cd first. bios tells key press on splash screen when first switch on. try f2 or f10.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
