just have decided go away windows 7 , onto linux.

started installing "ubuntu" didn't on because slow on alienware laptop , crashed.

installed "xubuntu" liked , ran curosity got better of me , installed "opensuse"

"opensuse" way on complicated me understand , never got wireless card working whilst using , overall disliked how such mission accomplish click of mouse on "xubuntu".

have uninstalled of above , fancy trying either "kubuntu" or "mint" based on how sophistcated

finding hard find distro suits needs of looking great , working without effort or use of the coding language.

people think should try?

i'll recommend kubuntu. used ubuntu quite few years , last unity update me. switched kubuntu , 100% satisfied change. wish had tried earlier. loved opensuse had problems font rendering.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
