Thread: Trying To Enable Laptop Mode

hello ubuntu world! new , in need of help!

installed ubuntu on lenovo z470, , getting better battery life windows 7.
have been trying enable laptop mode. here have been experiencing

funky@funky-rev-1-0:~$ /etc/default/acpi-support
bash: /etc/default/acpi-support: permission denied
funky@funky-rev-1-0:~$ /etc/laptop-mode/laptop-mode.conf.
bash: /etc/laptop-mode/laptop-mode.conf.: no such file or directory
yesterday able there , worked instead of finding
enable_laptop_mode=false

said needed install laptop-mode-tools, having trouble doing. can't there.
appreciated. other gotta loving ubuntu , glad apart of community!

i'm assuming want edit these files. you're doing typing in path files , not doing anything.

if want edit them...try:

sudo gedit /etc/default/acpi-support
no idea on laptop tools. else along shortly, i'm sure.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
