Thread: Ubuntu 11.10 Update Problems

so upgraded ubuntu 11.10 when first released, encountered few problems when installed. run ubuntu off of virtuabox or virtual machine, don;'t think problem because ubuntu 11.04 worked on it.

anyways, i've been trying figure out these problems since new version came out.

problem #1: click software center open up. icon blinks on dock, no window pops up.

problem #2: message saying ubuntu couldn't receive updates. here's picture of error message when click red icon minus symbol in it.



please me , tell me need fix this!

so go /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ , see written on line 1 of file akirad.lis(i cannot see rest of filename).

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
