Thread: web server help.

hey guys. want set web server. dont know how go around doing that. can explain how? im running ubuntu 11.10 way.

if want set lamp (linux, apache, mysql, php) server - common configuration - open terminal window , type:

code:
sudo apt-get install php5 mysql apache2
when these installed, prompted root password mysql user.

after installation, open web browser , type address: http://localhost

should "success! works" banner. files served apache webserver located in /var/www directory.

before open internet, though, make sure read , patch potential vulnerabilities.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
