Adobe Reader not opening. what to do?

my adobe reader stopped working.  removed old versions of adobe, installed new version , nothing.  cannot open file.  ran repair instructions posted on forum.  nothing.  tried instruction window recognize file. nothing.  wrong adobe reader?  cannot launch newly installed application.  running windows 7 os.   please help!

you can try using tool first remove traces of reader:

 

http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html


then, can download offline reader installer from

 

http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

 

after downloading, restart computer , run installer before doing else.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
