effects don't seem to apply when rendering

i apply effects, cropping , looks great in preview, when render or publish, area cropped out still there. not in preview window, after rendered. there step apply effects?

are using premiere elements 11 windows? assume are? going through following:

 

a. highlighting clip on timeline (expert view).then going effects tab/transform/crop @ bottom of interface.

 

b. drag crop thumbnail timeline clip apply crop effect

 

c. making sure timeline clip highlighted, clicking on applied effects, followed opening crop panel of applied effects palette.

 

d. make crop adjustments top, left, right, bottom...checking or not putting check mark next zoom

 

e. hitting render button.

 

your crop should maintained after "e".

 

we watching confirmation of steps have been following.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
