Thread: Apache2 Install error
hi ubuntus
trying install apache2 , php5 when ran ´sudo apt-get install apache2´ terminal , got error this-
* starting web server apache2 syntax error on line 2 of /etc/apache2/conf.d/fqdn:
invalid command 'echo', perhaps misspelled or defined module not included in server configuration
action 'start' failed.
apache error log may have more information.
[fail]
invoke-rc.d: initscript apache2, action "start" failed.
setting apache2 (2.2.16-1ubuntu3.4) ...
processing triggers libc-bin ...
ldconfig deferred processing taking place
usual http://localhost not working!!! if helps me fix problem perfect me.

error message above, have error in file /etc/apache2/conf.d/fqdn:
on line 2 have word "echo" should not there.
if possible need put in correct fqdn /etc/apache2/conf.d/fqdn.
on machine not have file may can move home directory ( out way ) , try restarting apache again. if works can delete file, if doesn't have fix config file , move in place.
alternative, depending on set remove apache using package manager ( use option remove configuration files ) , reinstall it.
