Thread: Computer-related literature

i think of myself capable computer. i'm not knowledgeable, if have issue, can solve common sense , google (which has led me forum many times, way. thanks, all!) still, don't needing solution every problem come across.

run ubuntu exclusively of few days ago, , dual-booted ubuntu windows 7 6 months before that.

while learn when things go terribly wrong, i'd level of knowledge beforehand. really, i'd more well-rounded education in computation in general. don't expect read single for-dummies book , technological wizard, means. can stand read through equivalent of textbook. in mind, guys recommend me books, articles, etc. can learn myself?

lot of you're talking comes down correct diagnostic technique, can take years develop. initial guide learning diagnostic technique here: http://www.pcguide.com/ts/gen/diag.htm

much, though, comes down knowing computer doing , why - develop kind of "feel" might wrong. when first started out computer technician 20 years ago, learned x86 assembly language. helped me know how processor works.
