Thread: Grub ignoring Windows

i had problems windows , ubuntu earlier today, i've gotten figured out, except grub detects windows 7 when running "update-grub", doesn't show in boot loader. tried adding windows 7 manually in /etc/grub.d/40_custom, doesn't show in boot loader, however, in grub.cfg. way boot windows me open command line in grub , type

code:
set root=(hd0,1)  chainloader +1  boot

don't know "not showing in boot loader" means ...

said entry in grub.cfg, menu appear when boot?

there windows loader entry in menu?

happens when select menu entry?

these different kinds of problems.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
