Thread: Is inetd or xinetd used in Ubuntu?


i have small program should started whenever connection made particular tcp port localhost. , want standard i/o streams bound network connection.

sounds perfect fit xinetd. surprised see not installed default on ubuntu box. ubuntu use different "super-server"? what's convention kind of service process? thanks.

neither installed default, on ubuntu server edition. free choose xinetd , won't conflict anything.
