Thread: Text Mode boot


sir,
have installed ubuntu 8.04 in older machine. (256 mb ram)
can see things upto login screen properly.
when login desktop not getting loaded because of gui load.

there way boot ubuntu 8.04 in text mode ?
don't wish use gui reducing performance.

much better use up-to-date version of xubuntu, or better lubuntu, on machine. why restrict command line only, unless need?
