when backup catalog, files go onto external hard drive separately opposed folder containing files. how can correct this?

while taking backup, ensure create folder @ destination drive. when click browse choosing destination, there should button labelled "new folder" or "make new folder". use that.

the actual folder hierarchy visible once restore catalog checking checkbox "restore folder hierarchy" in restore catalog dialog.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
