Installation Problems

recently, received update alert on adobe flash player. clicked install updates. use adobe readerxi. tried download job application requiring adobe, acted did not have it. uninstalled both flash player , reader intentions of reinstalling both. let me reinstall reader, not flash player. problems having reader , job application form not resolved reinstallation. how can remedy problem?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
