Taking an Impossible Amount of time to Render a video

greetings,
i'm using adobe premiere elements 11 video editing , taking very very long time render. *about 15 hours hour , twenty minuet video. exporting h.264 mp4. hd 1080p

i have 12 gig of ram , i'm using amd athlon ii 4x 640 in hp pavilion p6727 desktop computer.

what taking long? if boost memory 16 gig ram make big of difference?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
