Thread: Internet slow in 11.10

i've been using ubuntu few months now, got new laptop , decided install 11.10 on , have set dual-boot windows 7. however, internet speed has gone way down new update - takes full 5 minutes load simple pages, longer. know it's not issue laptop, because internet speeds fine on win7 partition. had issues because wifi wasn't working @ on ubuntu, problem may lie there. suggestions on might wrong?

i see 2 options: reverting earlier version of network manager, or waiting next update, see if either fixes it. driver, baked kernel. (in case, boot previous kernel see whether problem persists. if problem doesn't manifest in old kernel, remove new kernel , keep using old one.)
so, um, did update, exactly? there's bound log somewhere, haven't bothered finding out where, yet... 'course, if had, might have been using arch today. excel @ administering things bits.

note of suggestions require tinkering in synaptic don't want screw up.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
