Thread: New Install - Problem on wifi (rtl8188ce)

i decided install ubuntu laptop , download finished pretty (i use windows installed second partition)

asked reboot usual time when ubuntu trying install drivers, got infinite loop when trying install wireless card driver.

card realtek rtl8188ce , ubuntu trying install firmware rtl8192c (since i'm guessing use same firmware) line keeps repeating

"rtl8192c: loading firmware file rtlwifi/rtl8192cfw.bin"

line keeps repeating on , over. when connect/disconnect usb drives or ethernet cable' system responds means understands connected something, , tries install drivers etc etc

have tried shut laptop off (by using power button) , restart, after select ubuntu boot menu, pink screen assume because system couldn't finish installing graphics drivers since never passed wireless drivers.

have tried download again , reinstall, didn't good.

@ condition, system doesn't understand keyboard input can't make skip wireless installation. if can somehow make him skip it, can reinstall wireless drivers once manage run ubuntu. don't know if there can make skip driver/firmware.

question simple, can do?

note: installation still on , line keeps repeating. thing change numbers before line keeps increasing. like:

"[ 2699.969770] rtl8192c: loading firmware file rtlwifi/rtl8192cfw.bin"
"[ 2759.892597] rtl8192c: loading firmware file rtlwifi/rtl8192cfw.bin"
"[ 2819.815546] rtl8192c: loading firmware file rtlwifi/rtl8192cfw.bin"

note2: ubuntu version 11.10

i've left open fair amount of time, nothing has changed of course. meanwhile, i've been searching possible solution using forum search , google.

of problems related wireless card occur after installation (like wireless not working else fine), not while on first boot.
