Thread: Printing issues
i got new printer, , have been jumping through hoops trying work. it's hp laserjet professional m1212nf mfp, , i'm running ubuntu 11.10 x64. installed driver through hplip. after got installed, getting insecure filter warning, managed resolve changing owner of filter , backend folders root. whenever try print something, job gets held. when try start again, show status being "processing - not connected?" before putting job on hold.
following message hp device manager whenever start computer up:
if helps, printer connected computer via usb.code:no system tray detected on system. unable start, exiting.
can me resolve issue please?
that printer requires driver plug-in. isn't 1 of better choices printers form hp. hp though bet printer wise. ones list printers dependent on non-free firmware/plug-ins can avoid ones this.
said shouldn't need install driver hp's web site. printer requires 3.10.4 , ubuntu 11.10 has 3.11.7.
can check out driver web site @ http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/recommended.html printer. verify plug-in , firmware not required.
if want try , figure out problem try booting live cd. see happens. maybe there screwed installation. have installed package hp. wasn't wrong move although doing can cause problems (this true of device).
