Thread: Slow login for non admin users

hi
gnome login user admin privs works fine. non admin(users no root privs) users login slow. actions- login, opening firefox or other app slow thereafter. no other user logged in time. help?
thx

are using ldap, nis, or other form of external authorization? have seen problem describe when pam can not obtain information needs in timely fashion, gives impression system slow.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
