Thread: Software center problem

i have ubuntu 10.10. software center works fine until change permission of /usr. when tried install using software-center, authendication window shaked , closed immediately.how can fix problem?

change permission of /usr it's supposed be. , if changed permissions recursively (all contents instead of /usr itself) try trace correct permissions each file.

changing ownership or permissions of system directories pretty sure way break system. ownerships , permissions reasons , shouldn't mess them unless absolutely sure it's required , know doing.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
