Thread: Touchpad no longer responding

well peachy.

got acer aspire 5735z , have been messing week , half. installed oneiric on first foray linux, , going fine. then, 3 minutes , 4.3 seconds ago, touchpad , left & right buttons stopped responding! luckily, had corded usb mouse, , seems working fine, keyboard.

when try using touchpad, cursor appears half second in center of screen, vanishes. permanently. when in state, keyboard becomes unresponsive, save ctrl+alt+del. hitting keys or plugging in mouse return normal.

ideas?

i not own one, looks solutions here:

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
