hi.

posted earlier in middle thread, appears thread got jailed after argument broke out or something.

anyway, know many people interested in testing out new wayland display server, many people can't test without building themselves, can difficult task.


working on wayland live cd here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/rebeccablackos/ right now, have wayland display server on it, not yet have nested x server, or wayland versions of toolkits ported wayland. still need figure out how build those...

wayland can work in window under x, or can run in tty. not work in virtual box @ all, due drivers not supporting it, , tested on intel hardware.

if want run in tty, must run
code:
sudo bash weston
because sudo removes ld_library_path variable, needed.

believe or not, wayland apparently supports spanning across 2 monitors. attached picture of running. garbage , ghosting on first screen due faulty screen, going replaced.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
