Thread: wireless wont connect

so did brand new install of ubuntu 11.04 , took gdm.conf out of auto start. every time startx , gui can see networks won't connect them. network not secured , when first installed went through , uninstalled gdm , found causes wireless not function. reinstalled , got when moved gdm.conf stopped working again. know driver installed , should working isn't. there service i'm missing gdm brings when auto boots?

am right in assuming networkmanager started automatically , networking enabled?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
