updating/sharing keywords and metadata in Lightroom 4

i using intern add keywords & metadata extremely large group of photos in lightroom 4.

the intern have own workstation we'll passing files , forth.

i need add work mine, keeping of keyword/metadata work tied virtual photos have work done them (some keywords, metatdata , photo enhancements in place on photos).

step-by-step appreciated

 

what best way this?

i'm still learning lr myself.

lightroom not multi-user application, , can, via tedious manipulation of files, achieve result want, should note make 1 mistake, , potentially have real mess on hands.

 

the best solution (in opinion) put catalog file , photos on server can both access. drawback doing 1 person can working specific lightroom catalog @ time. , given usual advice use 1 catalog, may not meet needs.

 

if that's not solution, intern can create own temporary catalog of portion of photos worked on today, add keywords , other metadata, , pass catalog file merge main catalog using command file->import catalog.

 

as alternative, if task intern carry out adding keywords , other metadata, there many freeware solutions intern can use this, , when done in particular folder, can in lightroom select photos in folder, , read metadata photo files. windows, 2 such freeware programs geosetter , exiftoolgui.
