Why can't I swap my PC serial for a Mac one?

hoping correct place ask question.

 

my company purchased creative suite 3 , 2 x copies of photoshop cs3 few years ago - have been in use until recently.

 

we have since upgraded mac's design purposes; de-activated copy of photoshop before swapping over, find serial not compatible mac.

 

when asked if swap serial numbers, live chat assistant told me off not installing mac version original media (well had pc dvd couldn't).

 

would able tell me can without buying copy? isn't option. many people not pay once, don't want have pay twice!

nobody can change rules. should have thought of before buying new shiny macs. there no otehr way otehr buying new mac licenses or joining creative cloud/ subscription.
