COPY & PASTE KEEPS STOPPING WORKING PLEASE HELP :-(

trying copy either pdf or vector image 1 illustrator file another. cut pb wont paste. shut down illustrator , open again times start work again wont. ideas !?

ai version?

does give error message or refuse paste?

do have "paste remembers layers" on or off?

are pasting in place or pasting in middle of artboard?

are using key commands or working menu?

are these large files?

 

sorry, i  don't have answer, looking little more background try troubleshoot problem.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
