Saving form last modified in LiveCycle Designer as PDF version 1.4

i have pdf fillable form last modified/saved in livecycle designer. pdf version 1.7, need reduce version 1.4 (for compatibility reasons). way open pdf in acrobat , use optimizer save down version 1.4, form i'm getting message says "the pdf document contains adobe xml form. such files cannot optimized." downloaded trial version of designer es4, i'm not having luck taking down version 1.4. know if  it's possible save down kind of pdf version 1.4?

livecycle pdfs aren't normal acrobat pdfs, they're xml file wrapper - that's why can't optimize them.

 

you can't save specific pdf versions, can change target version of form designer. i'm not sure options designer es4 gives under defaults tab of file>form properties can change target version - i'm using es2 can can change compatibility acrobat 7.0.5 (pdf 1.6).

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
