so i've installed 11.1 , have few issues need with...thanks in advance!!!

1. seems run slow--eg, takes 4 seconds open system settings , know machine old, not old...lol.
2. software center blank
3. firefox blank when opened
(these remain blank after reboot)
seems blank, document, system settings remains ok

again, help!

okay, there goes questions you.

1- should hardware able run oneiric better performance? mean, relatively new?
2- using unity, gnome3, gnome2?
3- did tried older version of ubuntu in machine? did better performance?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
