Thread: Cannot Install ubuntu 11.10 on xps 17

i have 64 bit ubuntu 10.04 lts installed. have switchable graphics intel/nvidia. tried install ironhide not support lucid 10.04 lts.

solution reinstall ll.10 oneric instead. burned downloaded 2x , burned 2 cds , not install. following error when try boot live cd
udevd [112]:timeout: killing '/sbin/modprobe -bv pci:v00008086d0000126sv00001028sd00000571bc03sc00i 00' [187]

downloaded third time , tried boot usb drive still not progress.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
