hi new world of ubuntu dad has used time, have panasonic cf-29 mk1 toughbook, running ubuntu 11.10 off usb pen drive since has no hdd installed,

impressed far windows user, can't on how runs on 16gb pen drive on ddr1 ram 1.2ghz processor,

way wondering if new of drivers of laptops stuff working correctly.

far can't dim screen, sound not work, , can't touch screen work although not sure if cf-29 has touch screen not appear option in bios.

on note how desktop customisation can completed on ubuntu? *** have @ moment launcher bar on left , few settings @ bar on top.

if "lspci", list of hardware on pc. should browse hardware , laptop section, using information, see if has posted on devices.

unfortunately, advent of unity -- not much. canonical wants consistent , feel imposed on us.

there other desktops can choose, , provide different degrees of customizations, including use of themes.
