Thread: HP Laptop internet connection problem with Ralink RT5390... Connects occasionally.
hi there,
installed ubuntu alongside existing windows 7 installation on hp pavilion g6 1180sa laptop. has intel core i5 2410 2.3ghz processor new mobile intel hm65 express chipset. istallation seemed go ok experiencing difficulty connecting internet, of time is. boot machine , attempts connect automatically given repeated notifications saying ''wireless network disconnected. offline''. notification appears several times , stops machine still not connected , i'm unable download anything.
clicking on wireless icon @ top right of screen shows wireless network available , wireless enabled. if click on available network same result, 1 notification. machine has been able connect couple of times, once yesterday, day after installed o/s , once earlier today. both times after shutting down , rebooting machine once more unable connect. laptop connects wireless network windows other windows based machine (dell desktop). able connect laptop in unbuntu mobile phone that's not long term solution i'd love issue sorted possible.
took time read , follow instrctions posted in this thread has made post here rather long hope information i've put in relavent. can post more information required bear in mind i'm total newbie ubuntu concerned (i have installed 2 days ago, more or less got hang of terminal window , that's it) please bear me :-)

ok, i've been using windows online while evening seeing ubuntu still not connect. go bed out of curiosity booted ubuntu again, walked away laptop minute or 2 , when came had connected automatically.
have not altered since earlier when refusing connect.
have suggestions can solution intermittent yet persistent connection difficulties please?
