Thread: No 'startup notification' during launching of any application

hello

have fresh installation of xubuntu 11.10 oneiric ocelot. if double-click on application link (for example firefox, see screenshot) on desktop or one-click on application icon on application menu, cursor doesn't change typically "waiting wheel" during start. know why? can enable behavior?



behavior pain, because don't if desired application started. user seams double-click didn't work , should done again.

searched on 3 hours problem in internet didn't find solution problem. hope can me.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
