Thread: No TTY's 1-6 Fresh Install

hello, i'm did fresh install of xubuntu 11.10 on new computer , working charm except tty's.

reason tty's ( ctrl-alt-f1-6 ) give me blank screen, know they're working 'cause picture kinda grey , tipe user , password , when got gui , check on terminal can see i'm logged on, doing sudo cat /dev/vcs1 see tty fine.

i've notice within boot see blank screen until prompt up, i've tried pressing shift grub , append vga=786 see if i'm not seeing grub either.

odd thing have in new computer i'm using 27" led tv hdmi cable video card, i've tried dvi cable i'm getting straight 1080p video.

i've noticed although see blank screen when trying go tty's tv shows message saying it's getting 1080p signal.

don't know go here, i've seen couple similar problem yet can't seem figure out fix mine.

i'm running:

intel i7 2600k
motherboard gigabyte z68xp-ud5
32gb ram
geforce gtx 560 ti
samsung led 27" series 5
xubuntu 64bit

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
