Thread: On screen keyboard keeps popping up when waking laptop.

i'm using ubuntu 11.10 , using gnome shell. last few days whenever wake laptop login screen appears usual reason on screen keyboard popping @ bottom of screen , didn't before. don't know if changed setting , didn't realize or what. how can stop keyboard showing up?

while i'm on subject why login screen appearing when waking computer? set account settings automatic login , when starting computer when wake computer sleep have login. funny thing if sleep computer going menu @ top of screen , selecting "suspend" computer sleep , when wake there no need login again. if close lid of laptop , sleep computer way have login again when wake it. wake computer , not need login , go straight desktop. how can this?

you can turn off onscreen keyboard going accessibility options, either in system settings>universal access or widget in top panel.
in system settings>screen, turn "lock" button off.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
