Thread: Ram Upgrade Question

i'm upgrading ram in ubuntu box , have few questions.

have 4 slots available max of 16 gb total. memory type ddr3 pc3-8500, ddr3 pc3-10600, ddr3 (ecc)
4 gb maximum per slot.

have 4gb memory (2x2gb), 1333mhz, dual ranked udimm installed. 2 sticks of 2 gb 2 empty slots. want add 8 gb more 2 4 gb sticks. questions are;

1. if 4gbx2 can still run 2x2gb it? slots available.
2. (see attached first) recommended upgrade best possible situation? speed matters more me money.
3. how know if memory in attached pic or memory matter dual ranked? think dual better because paid more when bought it.
4. if memory stick in picture isn't dual, can run dual , single on 1 machine simultaneously?

i can answer first 2 questions easily.
1. yes.
2. recommended upgrade recommended because gives ram, , expensive.
3.dual ranked (from read) more advanced feature industry standard therefore are.
4. should able to. i'm no hardware expert, though.
