Thread: Small screen on AOE2 in VBox with XP

after couple of attempts stop game crashing @ start-up both wine , playonlinux, decided give vbox, downloaded website. second last resort, wanted working properly. last resort install xp dual boot, i've been windows-free more year now, let's not open old wounds.

game runs, , good, except graphics - shows small screen, instead of being in whole screen. in ctrl+f , ctrl+l, centers resolution screen in middle, huge black frames in picture.

in ctrl+c, game full screen, bad resolution, , ctrl+c, mouse laggy, makes game unplayable there.

have guest additions installed (without 3d thing). ctrl+f works should out of game, on desktop. max resolution of screen i'm using (host) 1600:900. matter? why can't set full-full screen? can take stab @ wrong here?

aoe time of low resolutions - go settings , see how high can resolution, reason in game play - videos , menus still smaller. way got going semi decent change host display down, guest colour pallet up! if sea looks naff - grainy , stuff - kill explorer.exe before play - can start whilst playing.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
