Thread: USB flash drive doesn't boot anymore
i have used usb flash drive boot various distros, during time had ubuntu 10.04 installed. wanted install other distros , check them out way. , wanted dual boot bodhi linux , opensuse 12.1, failed miserably. opensuse didn't appear in grub , after fiddling graphics drivers on bodhi didn't want boot. after many fails @ "reviving" bodhi, decided delete , opensuse , install distro. ended being fuduntu. in end not satisfied , tried make bootable usb drive, did using unetbootin(as previous bootable usb drives). usb drive didn't want boot, naturally tried on laptop , booted fine. have checked possible options in bios, switching them off , on each unsuccessful boot.
, somehow after managed have 2 grubs installed, 1 1.97 beta on 1 hard disk (sda) , 0.99 or on (sdb).
usb drive in question kingston dt108, 16gb, fat32. have tried ext2 also, both of have worked neither now.
ask these 2 questions, can me rid of grub 0.99 on sdb , me fix desktop can boot usb drives again?
, sadly no, it's not possible burn disk because busybox newer distros, because of elderly disk drive.
for reason or other tried again. reformatted usb drive ext2, made bootable , works now. thing left grub question, realize might not suitable subforum placed in.
