Thread: What can I do to make GNOME 3 run?

gnome 3 extremely slow me. hardware specs are:

ram: 512mb
graphics: nvidia geforce 5200
processor: 2ghz

have 173 nvidia drivers installed. should do/upgrade make gnome shell work?

is laptop? need proprietary nvidia drivers, however, if laptop, have nvidia optimus , bad news.

if desktop, going additional drivers , installing nvidia proprietary driver should trick.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
