Thread: Windows 7 + Ubuntu grub loader

windows 7 loader broken.

how can add windows 7 that'll boot grub?

it's stored on c: drive in folder "windows" .

help?

well can boot linux? grub 2 , windows grub seem have major issue getting along. have had problem , couldn't solve issue , had reformat. ok try windows recovery console(boot windows disk, second option recovery console, not same option windows repair, repair windows recovery console)

fix mbr might reset master boot record. believe command more suitable resetting boot flag in grub. none of worked me, plus, takes risk /dev/sda won't recognize windows master boot record. viewing on forum there linux live cd .iso can download , burn cd boot reset whole grub parameter master programmer. not sure how works. forgot name also. maybe 1 of mods drop , check thread , list , how use it. supposed cd simple work , click 'repair grub'

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
