GTX 660 TI and steps with CS5.5

hi. i've found few sites steps follow getting premiere et al. work gtx 660 ti video card.  bunch installing cs 6 , still have 5.5.  can advise differences?  sites indicated there couple different steps 5 6.  much.          , note, reason i'm putting in new 1 watching youtube today , had watched 30 mins worth, got bsod before briefly got message on lower right display adapters stopping working.  if has opinion on that, please let me know.  current card ati radeon hd 540.  it's old, motherboard , processor brand new

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
