Some filters not showing up

last night designing graphics , using artistic filters through filter gallery, today opened same document, , none of filters there, can't access filter gallery @ all. images in 8/bit rgb, filters wont show in plug-in menu, appreciated.screen shot 2013-04-28 @ 1.47.06 pm.png

are photoshop , os updated , have performed usual trouble-shooting routines (trashing prefs keeping command-alt-shift/ctrl-alt-shift pressed while starting photoshop after making sure customized presets actions, patterns, brushes etc. have been saved , making note of preferences you’ve changed, 3rd party plug-ins deactivation, system maintenance, cleaning caches, font validation, etc.)?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
