Thread: 11.10 and Clonezilla - sysprep required?

before moving on 11.10, syspreped xp box , created image backup clonezilla. need reload xp image reclaim data forgot export. there pre admin tasks need complete (like sysprep) 11.10 box before create image?

no, 2 processes quite different. can create clone of ?buntu system @ time using clonezilla. restriction target disk must large (or greater than) original. when re-image ?buntu have running system.

however, when image xp system , use sysprep, re-image process not direct image of original. when boots first time, goes through windows mini-install. should aware can't keep cloning , syspreping xp image. think works 3 times.

way re-image xp systems create working image , save "pre" image. sysprep create "post" image can deploy. way, if need make changes, go "pre" image, make changes, save "pre" image, create new syspreped "post" image deployment.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
